Fox: 'Habanero'

Description

I took this picture while I was fly fishing in Alaska. We stayed at a lodge and this family of wild foxes would consistently come by the lodge and get the leftovers. According to the lodge owners, the family of foxes had been going to the lodge to get leftovers for over 50 years! I was able to get this picture of the fox about 15 yards in front of me on the trail leading from the river to the lodge.

And btw... I would submit this as a print, but for some reason, the file shows up as not being the correct quality even though it was taken on the same camera as the other Alaska pics and seems to have all of the same attributes...

Print is now available! I found the original file and I am happy to say it is high enough quality to print! Feel free to click on the right side of this page to print this pic!

Another pic of Habanero here.

A nice picture of a fox.

The subject is in focus and the detail in the subject is very nice. There are no distracting elements in the foreground. The background is nicely blurred and is a good contrast to the subject. There is a slight distraction in the upper right corner of the background. The positioning of the subject is okay. The lighting is okay but one of the foxes ears casts a shadow over it's face. Though there isn't a lot you can do about that in wildlife photography. Personally, I would have liked to have seen a little more room in front of the foxes nose and less behind it. The issue lies in the amount of the fox shown. We have about 2/3's of the animal showing. The viewers eye gets drawn out of the picture looking for the rest of the animal. If it had been a picture of the whole fox or if it had just been a bust shot of it's head, I think the issue would have been resolved.

Overall, a fine effort that could use some minor positioning improvements.
